Inchiostro di china su carta 32,5 × 44 cm (12,8 × 17,32 pollici) Il tema dello scienziato pazzo si ritrova sia in Hergé che in André Franquin. È un «meme» della letteratura fantastica, da Frankenstein di Mary Shelley a La Poupée sanglante di Gaston Leroux. È proprio questa letteratura, i «romanzi da cinque soldi», che Tardi richiama, con il suo senso dello spettacolare e del burlesco. L’idea, questa volta, è quella di resuscitare un australopiteco e portarlo in giro per tutta Parigi. Egli incontra un ingenuo parroco che ricorda la canzone di Georges Brassens «Gare au gorille», mentre Adèle è in viaggio verso un misterioso appuntamento. Questo mix di colpi di scena incessanti, personaggi da Grand Guignol, inseguimenti al crepuscolo nella Parigi haussmanniana e dialoghi da teatro di boulevard conferisce alla serie Adèle Blanc-Sec un fascino indescrivibile che continua ad affascinare anche a 50 anni dalla sua creazione.
