Ciclismo / Cicloturismo / Avventura PERRODIL (Edouard, de), A travers les cactus, traversata dell’Algeria in bicicletta, in-8, Parigi, Ernest Flammarion, 1896, 324 pagine (macchie) Opera dello scrittore-ciclista-giornalista-poeta Edouard de Perrodil (1860-1931), un fenomeno della velocipedia agli albori. Soprannominato «il Don Chisciotte della bicicletta», viaggiava molto e le sue escursioni spesso sfociavano in un saggio o in un libro. Da solo o in compagnia di amici come Henri Farman, attraversò Vienna, Milano, Madrid, Algeri e Tunisi. Partecipò anche a gare come la Bordeaux-Parigi nel 1892. Nei 24 capitoli del libro si passa dalla Kasbah a Orléanville, Blidah, Costantina o alle gole del Cheliff. Da questo volume si intuisce il fervore di un appassionato di uno sport agli albori, che scriverà anche di automobili (Théry) e di campioni del ciclismo (Guignard, Jaquelin)… Un genio ingiustamente caduto nell’oblio.
