Frontespizio allegorico alle armi di Michelangelo Baglioni, ritratto dell'autore, diagrammi e notazioni musicali nel testo, fregi xilografici, 117 incisioni a pagina intera rappresentanti dei combattenti in armatura (manca il fascicolo H, strappi alle pagine 117 e 231, sporadiche macchie e bruniture.) Legatura coeva piena pergamena, titolo manoscritto al dorso (difetti e mancanze). L’opera, oltre alle magnifiche tavole incise da Giovanni Battista Coriolano, comprende alcune carte con notazioni musicali per tamburo che rappresentano uno dei primi esempi di musica militare a stampa.
