Parigi, Société d'Édition «Le Livre», 1929. In-4, brossurato, copertina illustrata con rivestimento, busta e astuccio dell’editore in carta blu con vignetta del titolo sul dorso e sul piatto. 86 pp., 10 litografie, compresa la copertina. Astuccio dell’editore sbiadito dal sole e consumato. Prima edizione illustrata, impreziosita da 10 litografie originali in nero di Othon Friesz. Tiratura limitata a 275 esemplari; questo è uno dei 10 esemplari di testa su carta giapponese antica (n. I) contenente una serie separata su carta cinese e stampato appositamente per l’imprenditore e bibliofilo Léon Comar (1863-1932). Bell’esemplare di questa piacevole edizione che segna la collaborazione tra André Maurois e il suo amico, il pittore Othon Friesz, entrambi legati da una comune origine normanna.
