Anton Weinberger, Due gatti un gatto addormentato e uno che guarda lo spettatore, acquerello e bianco coprente su cartoncino, inizio XX secolo, firmato in basso a sinistra dell’immagine “A. Weinberger", lievi segni di usura, montato su passe-partout e contrassegnato a piombo con «N. 24/600.-», apertura del passe-partout ca. 15,5 x 25 cm. Informazioni sull’artista: pittore tedesco di animali e paesaggi (1843 Monaco di Baviera – 1912 Wiesbaden), studiò a partire dal 1861 all’Accademia di Monaco di Baviera con Georg Hiltensperger e Alexander Strähuber, successivamente con August Schleich e August Erxleben; attivo come insegnante di disegno a Lipsia e, intorno al 1872, a San Pietroburgo; in seguito allievo di Paul Meyerheim a Berlino; dal 1884 al servizio della corte imperiale a Vienna, poi attivo alternativamente a Monaco di Baviera e a Wiesbaden, Fonte: Thieme-Becker, Boetticher, Registro degli studenti dell’Accademia di Monaco e Internet.
