CASA DEL RE. Moschettiere grigio, 1ª compagnia. Rara e importante croce da soprabito di moschettiere grigio. Croce radiante con gigli e fiamme, bordata da un gallone dorato, fili, intrecci, paillettes e fili di seta rossa. 22,5 x 22,5 cm. XVIII secolo (tracce d’uso). I moschettieri della Casa Militare del Re: Istituita nel 1600 da Enrico IV per costituire la sua guardia personale, la futura 1ª Compagnia assunse il nome di moschettieri per ordine di Luigi XIII nel 1622. Sciolta da Mazarin nel 1646, fu riformata da Luigi XIV nel 1657 (120 uomini, 330 nel 1668). La Seconda Compagnia fu creata nel 1665 a partire da quella del cardinale Mazzarino, donata al re nel 1660. Le compagnie furono sciolte nel 1775 da Luigi XVI; riformate da Luigi XVIII nel 1814, furono definitivamente sciolte nel 1816.
