VAN DER MEULEN Adam François (1632-1690), da e BONNART Robert (1652-1733), incisore Il re, dopo essersi impadronito della città di Cambray Grande incisione antica incorniciata sotto vetro 51 x 94,5 cm (Incisione) 73 x 114,5 cm (Con cornice) B.E (una macchia nella parte inferiore) Questa incisione raffigura la presa di Cambrai da parte di Luigi XIV nell’aprile del 1677, durante la guerra d’Olanda. Dopo un assedio condotto dalle truppe francesi, la città e la sua cittadella si arresero al re, rafforzando la posizione francese al confine con i Paesi Bassi spagnoli. Realizzata da Adam François van der Meulen e incisa da Robert Bonnart, questa stampa fa parte della serie dedicata alle grandi vittorie militari del regno di Luigi XIV. Si inserisce nelle serie consacrate alle conquiste del Re Sole e pubblicate nell’ambito del Cabinet du Roi.
