Ritrattista intorno al 1840 "Ritratti gemelli di Brema" "Anton Heinrich Ernst Rakemann, nato il 22/12/1806, virtuoso del clarinetto e dell’oboe a Brema" e "Helene Droop da sposa, sposata Rakemann, nata il 18 aprile 1817, morta nel 1896» Olio su tavola e olio su cartoncino, non firmati, sul retro ciascuno indicato su un pannello di cartoncino con la dicitura «dipinto nel 1839», 30 x 24 cm, cornici profilate in oro a lavaggio, 37 x 31 cm * La famiglia di musicisti Rakemann influenzò in modo decisivo la vita musicale di Brema del XIX secolo, in particolare nell’orchestra della Società Filarmonica fondata nel 1825; Ernst e Louis Rakemann (pianista e compositore) si esibirono anche nel 1836 a Lipsia in un concerto molto apprezzato; la famiglia Droop era una nota famiglia borghese e di commercianti di Brema, da tempo radicata in città * Provenienza: Casa d’aste Bergmann, Erlangen
