Lastra con "Presentazione di Cristo al tempio". Maiolica con decorazione colorata a fuoco vivo. Non smaltato, rovescio non marcato con iscrizione illeggibile in color seppia. H 23, L 30 cm. Castelli, Bottega Grue, attribuito al 1700 circa, il dipinto è probabilmente di Carlo Antonio Grue (1655 - 1723). La tavola raffigura Maria e Giuseppe che consegnano il loro bambino a Simeone. A Simeone era stato profetizzato che non sarebbe potuto morire finché non avesse visto il Messia (Luca 2:21-35). L'ala destra del trittico della Deposizione dalla croce per la cattedrale di Anversa di Peter Paul Rubens, dipinto tra il 1611 e il 1614, è servita da modello. Provenienza Collezione privata renana, acquisita a Parigi nel 1970. Letteratura Cfr. Castier, Catalogue des Céramiques du Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, Villeurbanne 2008, C 62, un pannello identico con il Giudizio di Salomone.
