La figura raffigura una donna di alto rango, come dimostra già di per sé la sua acconciatura a forma di mitra. Inoltre, è riccamente decorata con elaborate scarificazioni a forma di protuberanze e i suoi denti sono stati limati ritualmente. Potrebbe incarnare la fondatrice di un clan, la «madre del lignaggio» — chiamata «ngudi» — e veniva quindi custodita nell’abitazione di un capo clan.
