Tappeto GHOUM in seta, di grande pregio e magnifico Iran. Epoca dello Scià, intorno al 1965. Tappeto appartenuto al principe Abdallah Al Fayçal Bin Abdullaziz Al Saud (re dell’Arabia Saudita dal 1964 al 1975). Il tappeto è stato venduto durante l’asta di Ader Picard Tajan il 10 dicembre 1988 all’Hotel Georges V. (estratto dal catalogo allegato). È stato tessuto su commissione nella città di Ghoum, con un motivo Teheran (circa 150 km separano le due città) Velluto di seta su base di seta. Densità di 560.000 nodi per metro quadrato. Su uno sfondo beige rosato è disposto un motivo a pavé, composto da una moltitudine di medaglioni con cornici «modanate» color oro antico, polilobate. I medaglioni sono color avorio con un motivo di bouquet floreali multicolori. Sono intervallati da intrecci «modanati» con ornamenti floreali. Due controbordure in oro antico con motivo a traliccio color mattone e fiorellini stilizzati color avorio, evidenziate da otto fasce color avorio e bluastre con ghirlande di fiori, incorniciano il bordo principale, beige rosato, ornato da rami frondosi ondulati che sostengono maestose composizioni floreali color avorio, che risaltano al centro di steli fioriti policromi. Passamaneria esterna color oro antico con motivi a pedine da scacchi. Dimensioni da palazzo estremamente rare e di grande pregio. H_620 cm L_420 cm. Bibliografia: - «Tapis» di R.
