Piastrella in ceramica nasride o castigliana con stemma nasride, Spagna, XVI secolo Parte di un motivo ripetuto, la piastrella rettangolare è dipinta in giallo e blu con un cartiglio centrale recante un’iscrizione in arabo circondata da motivi a palmette, con il motto «Non c’è (più grande) Conquistatore se non Dio» (la ghalib illa Allah), 13,5 x 18,7 cm. Provenienza: Christie's, 20 aprile 2007, lotto 310. Questa piastrella è stata progettata per essere posizionata su un angolo ed è tipica delle piastrelle realizzate soprattutto a Siviglia nel XVI secolo e utilizzate nei lavori di restauro. Potrebbe provenire da un restauro del XVI secolo all’Alhambra o da un’altra dimora mudéjar che in passato potrebbe essere stata una villa nasride. Una piastrella quasi identica si trova all’Ashmolean Museum di Oxford, WA1994.45.2
