VD18 11192879 - Herzeleide/Henning 42. - Jacques Égide Duhan de Jandun (1685-1746) fu il precettore di Federico il Grande e in seguito bibliotecario di Braunschweig a Blankenburg, nonché consigliere segreto prussiano presso il Ministero degli Affari Esteri (consigliere di legazione) a Berlino. L’influenza educativa di Duhan fu determinante per l’interesse che Federico il Grande nutrì per tutta la vita nei confronti della cultura e dello stile di vita francesi. Quanto Federico tenesse in grande considerazione il suo ex insegnante anche in età adulta traspare dalle numerose lettere, davvero cordiali, inviate a Duhan; in una poesia composta in suo onore, Federico definisce addirittura Duhan il suo «vero padre». - In alcuni punti macchiato. *
