Scuola britannica, primi anni del XIX secolo- L’Old Admiralty, Londra; matita e acquerello su carta, 21 x 32,8 cm. Provenienza: da Martyn Gregory, Londra [VGH 87]. Nota: Il Vecchio Ammiragliato, situato tra Whitehall e Horse Guards, fu progettato negli anni ’20 del XVIII secolo da Thomas Ripley. È stato suggerito che lo stile esecutivo di quest’opera presenti somiglianze con le opere di John Samuel Hayward (1778–1822). Infatti, un’opera simile di Hayward raffigurante la chiesa di All Saints a Southampton è stata messa all’asta da Sotheby’s, a Londra, il 28 aprile 1988, lotto 572.
