Provenienza: Collezione di Chirke Castle, Wrexham, vendita, Christie's, Londra, 21 giugno 2004, lotto 244. Collezione privata, Regno Unito. Nota: Le caratteristiche architettoniche qui attentamente studiate, in particolare le colonne, il soffitto a volta e il pavimento a scacchiera sottostante, sono tipiche dei dipinti di Neefs, che spesso, ma non esclusivamente, raffigurano interni di chiese. Questa composizione ricorda molto la rappresentazione dello stesso soggetto da parte di Neefs in una coppia di oli venduti da Sotheby's, Londra, il 10 luglio 2014, lotto 181, e nel suo dipinto venduto nella stessa sede il 5 aprile 1995, lotto 14.
