Nato a Racine (Wisconsin), Kurhajec è uno scultore autodidatta che divide la sua vita tra gli Stati Uniti, la Francia e il Messico; la sua opera, di stampo espressionista e grottesco, combina legno, ossa, corno, gesso, corde e piume per creare animali, totem e figure composite. È uno dei 25 artisti riuniti da Laurent Danchin in *Mycelium, génie savant génie brut* (Editions de l'abbaye d'Auberive, Auberive, 2014).
