LUIGI ROBERTO (ITALIANO, 1845-1910) La S.S. «Ortyga» della Avis Line Steamship Ltd di Londra al largo delle coste di Genova Firmato «Roberto Genova» (in basso a sinistra) con titolo datato «1893» (in basso al centro) Guazzo 13¾ x 22½ pollici (35 x 57 cm) Provenienza: Phillips Bath: Dipinti, acquerelli e stampe, 21 luglio 2000, lotto 62. Costruita dalla Craig, Tailor & Co. di Stockton nel 1891 e registrata con una stazza di 2.133 tonnellate, la Avis Line la vendette nel 1893 alla A.C. de Freitas & Co. di Amburgo, che la ribattezzò Etruria. Venduta ad armatori spagnoli nel 1897 e ribattezzata Serantes, fu distrutta al suo ormeggio a New York nel 1918 quando il suo carico di benzina in fusti prese fuoco. Presenta alcune lievi macchie, ma nel complesso è in buone condizioni. Incorniciata: 20,5 x 29,5 pollici.
