In-4 (31 x 27 cm), rilegatura da edizione, cartonato con sovraccoperta illustrata. 260 pp. Edizione originale di questa spettacolare serie di autoritratti dell’artista franco-polacco Roman Opałka (1931-2011), iniziata nel 1965 e completata alla sua morte nel 2011. Il suo intento era quello di materializzare lo scorrere del tempo e della vita di fronte alla morte. L’opera è arricchita da numerose tavole fotografiche pieghevoli montate su linguette. Gli autoritratti di Opałka, presentati come foto tessera frontali, con lo sguardo fisso sull’obiettivo e sullo spettatore, segnano l’inesorabile scorrere del tempo. Ogni nuovo ritratto è una traccia della sua presenza ancora viva in un determinato momento. Dal 1965 al 2011, l’artista ha raggiunto la cifra di 5.607.249, realizzando migliaia di ritratti, oggi famosi per il suo approccio piuttosto estremo, ripetitivo e rigoroso. Nel mondo dell’arte, la sua tenacia è riconosciuta come una forma di coraggio. Esemplare molto bello, in perfette condizioni.
