RITRATTO DI MUMMIA DETTO «DEL FAYOUM» Arte egizia, epoca romana, verso il II secolo d.C. Ritratto dipinto a encausto su tavola di legno con sommità arrotondata, raffigurante il defunto nelle vesti di un giovane uomo a mezzo busto, in leggera posa a tre quarti, con capelli neri corti. Le sopracciglia, folte e unite alla radice del naso, incorniciano occhi a mandorla dallo sguardo vivace, evidenziati di bianco e rivolti verso destra. Il naso è dritto e allungato, il filtro profondo, che sovrasta una bocca dalle labbra carnose. Indossa una tunica chiara ornata da clavi di porpora, visibile sulla spalla destra. Crepe nel legno, scheggiature, mancamenti e alcuni ritocchi. Dimensioni: 35,5 x 21 cm Provenienza: Collezione Charles Gillet (1879 – 1972), poi tramandata per via ereditaria Ritratto di mummia egizia in legno dipinto raffigurante un giovane uomo, Periodo romano, II secolo d.C. circa.
