Certificato (in copia): Seyni Awa Camara, Bignona, 6 dicembre 2025. Cresciuta nella Casamance, nel sud del Senegal, Seyni Awa Camara ha sviluppato, partendo dalla ceramica tradizionale, un linguaggio figurativo autonomo e inconfondibile. Le sue figure modellate nell’argilla uniscono elementi umani, animali e fantastici e sembrano fungere da ponte tra la cultura locale e il suo mondo spirituale. Ha raggiunto la fama internazionale soprattutto nel 1989 grazie alla sua partecipazione alla mostra pionieristica «Magiciens de la Terre» a Parigi. Da allora, la sua opera è stata presentata in tutto il mondo in importanti istituzioni e mostre. Nel 2026, Seyni Awa Camara sarà esposta postuma nel Padiglione Centrale della Biennale d’Arte di Venezia.
