5106-4 Quattro figure di apostoli - Paolo, Giovanni Battista, Pietro e Filippo Renania, 1400/1420 circa e fine del XIX secolo Altezza 51,5/53 cm Legno di latifoglia, probabilmente tiglio, cavo sul retro; piedistallo successivo in legno di quercia con iscrizioni. Restaurato, segni di usura dovuti all’età, piccole mancanze. La statuetta di Giovanni è chiusa da una lastra posteriore in quercia aggiunta in un secondo momento ed è stata sottoposta a un restauro approfondito. La figura di Filippo, risalente alla fine del XIX secolo, è in legno di latifoglia, appiattita sul retro e ricavata da un unico blocco. La rifinitura successiva è probabilmente opera di W. Mengelberg (Utrecht), fine del XIX secolo. Proveniente dalla collezione di Johanna von Wekbeker (1851 - 1918), rimasta di proprietà della famiglia per via ereditaria fino ad oggi Bibliografia: *Die Kunstdenkmäler der Rheinprovinz, Landkreise Aachen und Eupen*, pag. 175 e segg., fig. 143
