Ossip Zadkine, La lotta, litografia firmata Ossip Zadkine, 1888 Vitebsk - 1967 Parigi, Gruppo di figure abbracciate, litografia, 76 x 56 cm, firmata, numerata 4/75, timbro a secco Erker Presse St. Gallen, senza cornice L’artista: nel 1909 e nel 1910 Zadkine studiò all’École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris (ENSBA) a Parigi e lavorò a La Ruche (colonia di artisti) nel 15° arrondissement di Parigi. Nel 1911 espose le sue statue e i suoi disegni al Salon d’automne e al Salon des Indépendants. È considerato uno dei più grandi maestri della scultura cubista. La produzione artistica di Zadkine si estende su mezzo secolo e comprende oltre quattrocento sculture, migliaia di disegni, acquerelli e guazzi, stampe, illustrazioni di libri e cartoni per arazzi.
