Christian Rohlfs, Senza titolo, acquerello della collezione Kirchhoff, Wiesbaden Christian Rohlfs, 1849 Groß Niendorf - 1938 Hagen, Composizione astratta, acquerello su carta, 25 x 16 cm, montato su cartoncino nella parte superiore, sul retro conferma manoscritta della donazione da parte dell’artista a Tony Kirchhoff, Wiesbaden, gennaio 1962. Kirchhoff era la moglie di Heinrich Kirchhoff (1874-1934), importante collezionista d’arte e mecenate nella prima metà del XX secolo di Wiesbaden, la cui collezione negli anni ’30 fu dichiarata «arte degenerata» e rimossa dal Museo di Wiesbaden. Dopo la sua morte, la collezione fu venduta. Tra gli artisti presenti nella collezione figuravano, oltre a Christian Rohlfs, nomi del calibro di Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Paul Klee, Otto Mueller, Emil Nolde, Oskar Kokoschka, George Grosz e molti altri.
