Walter Eimer, Città del Sud Italia, acquerello del 1959, incorniciato Walter Eimer, 1899-1983, Vista di una città del Sud Italia (Peschici?) arroccata sulla montagna, acquerello, 47 x 66 cm, firmato, datato (19)59 e con iscrizione illeggibile, incorniciato con gusto dietro P.p. e vetro Sull’artista: Walter Eimer studiò pittura e disegno a partire dal 1918 con Wilhelm Oertel; dal 1919 al 1923 frequentò la Landeszeichenschule di Karlsruhe, tra gli altri, con i professori August Groh e Karl Eyth; grazie ad Albert Haueisen si avvicinò allo studio della natura; dal 1923 al 1929 Eimer lavorò come insegnante di disegno in diverse scuole superiori. Ha compiuto viaggi di studio, tra l’altro, a Venezia, Firenze, Roma, in Sicilia, a Parigi, Barcellona e Madrid; dal 1929 è stato pittore indipendente a Mannheim; il suo atelier è stato distrutto durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. La sua opera è influenzata dal tardo impressionismo.
