Macdonald, francobollo autografato Statista e avvocato canadese (1815-1891) che fu il primo primo ministro del Canada, in carica dal 1867 al 1873 e poi nuovamente dal 1878 fino alla sua morte. Artegene principale della Confederazione canadese, svolse un ruolo centrale nella formazione e nella prima espansione del Dominion del Canada. Busta indirizzata a mano e affrancata a mano, 5,25 x 4, indirizzata da John A. Macdonald, in qualità di primo ministro, allo scrittore canadese William Kirby, «W. Kirby, Esq., Niagara, Ontario», e affrancata in basso a sinistra con le sue iniziali, «J. A. Mc’d.». Il retro reca il timbro postale di Niagara del 1889 e la dicitura «Les Rochers», nome della residenza estiva di Macdonald a Saint-Patrice-de-la-Rivière-du-Loup, nel Québec. In ottime condizioni, con segni di usura sul bordo superiore. William Kirby (1817-1906) fu uno scrittore canadese, noto soprattutto per il suo classico romanzo storico, *The Golden Dog*.
