GEORGES ALEXANDRE FISCHER (1820-1890) I contadini bretoni Grande olio su tela. Etichette sul retro. Dimensioni: 137 x 109 cm Pittore francese nato a Parigi e morto a Brest, Georges Alexandre Fischer si formò all’École des Beaux-Arts di Parigi sotto la guida di Paul Delaroche. Fin dai suoi esordi trovò ispirazione in Bretagna, dove finì per stabilirsi definitivamente. Nel 1870 realizzò degli affreschi per la Cappella di Coadry a Scaër, oggi classificata come Monumento Storico. Fischer insegnò disegno alla Scuola Navale di Brest per diversi anni, fino alla sua morte, avvenuta nel 1890.
