Dorso leggermente sbiadito. Bella edizione illustrata, impreziosita da un frontespizio e da 8 composizioni del pittore cileno Santiago Arcos, incise da A. Nargeot, comprendenti 4 vignette e 4 illustrazioni a piè di pagina. Tiratura speciale realizzata su richiesta del libraio Conquet, limitata a 225 esemplari su pergamena del Marais. Questo, n. 196, con ampi margini, contiene tutte le illustrazioni in 4 stati, ovvero 3 serie aggiuntive di incisioni. «L’opera più rara e ricercata di questa collezione di 10 volumi, insieme a *La Famille Cardinal* di Ludovic Halévy» (Carteret - IV, 276)
