Rilegature d'epoca in mezza pelle bionda, finte nervature, fregi dorati, fioroni a freddo, cartellini del titolo verdi, tagli marmorizzati. - Ex-dono scritto a mano con inchiostro sul foglio di guardia del volume I (Colin, ex ufficiale... al dottor Coqueret). Piccolo strappo su un cappuccio e corrispondente morsetto lacerato per 3 cm, margini leggermente ingialliti. Quest’opera, pubblicata inizialmente con il titolo di «Traité du physique...», è all’origine della fama del suo autore. Si compone di dodici memorie stampate per la prima volta nel Journal de l’Institut, poi separatamente nel 1802. Grande classico della filosofia medica, che Marx definì l’apogeo del materialismo francese, quest’opera è la prima a trattare metodicamente i rapporti tra psicologia e fisiologia, riprendendo le teorie di Condillac sulla sensibilità. L’indice analitico è opera del celebre filosofo ed economista Destutt de Tracy.
