Macchina da scrivere Blickensderfer. USA, circa 1900. Su base di legno. Misure: 12 x 33 x 32 cm. Blickensderfer è una macchina da scrivere progettata da George C. Blickensderfer (1850-1917) nel 1893. Divenne famosa per la sua portabilità, in quanto conteneva solo 250 pezzi rispetto ai 2.500 di una macchina standard. Inoltre, incorporava una ruota tipografica che poteva essere facilmente rimossa per cambiare il carattere. La fabbrica dell'azienda si trovava a Stamford, nel Connecticut, e le sue macchine da scrivere venivano vendute in tutto il mondo.
