Scuola spagnola del XIX secolo. "Cristo in croce". Legno intagliato e policromato con oro zecchino. Manca un dito di una mano. Dimensioni: 80 x 58 x 18 cm. Realizzato in stile ottocentesco, questo Cristo in croce policromo con rifiniture in oro zecchino si distingue per il suo spiccato realismo e per la diretta influenza dei modelli barocchi, visibile nell’intensità espressiva del volto, nell’anatomia meticolosamente scolpita e nella composizione dinamica della figura. Il capo inclinato, la resa naturalistica della muscolatura e delle costole, nonché l’elegante drappeggio del velo di purezza con dettagli dorati, evocano il dramma e la forza emotiva caratteristici dell’arte religiosa barocca, reinterpretati nel corso del XIX secolo con una sensibilità più accademica e un notevole interesse per l’accuratezza anatomica.
