Edizione originale: illustrata con 4 xilografie originali incise da Raoul Ubac, di cui tre a tutta pagina. Tiratura limitata a 60 esemplari: esemplare n. 50, firmato dal poeta e dal pittore. Si allega una serie delle quattro xilografie incise da Raoul Ubac stampate su carta cinese, più una delle xilografie su carta velina, firmata. Quinto libro di André Frénaud illustrato dal suo collaboratore Raoul Ubac, la cui amicizia risale al 1943. «Da questo incontro sarebbe nata una lunga amicizia, accompagnata da un’assidua collaborazione, dalla quale sarebbero scaturiti dieci libri superbamente illustrati, che vanno da *Énorme figure de la déesse Raison* (1950) fino a *Construire en marguerite* (1981)» (Jean-Paul Madou in *La Voix et le Geste*, *André Frénaud e i suoi pittori*, p. 77).
