The earliest known map of St Petersburg, compiled on the basis of topographical surveys carried out by the St Petersburg Academy of Sciences since 1729, which made it possible to accurately depict the actual development of the city. Published in 1741 as part of the collection: '?????? ?????-????????????? ????????????? ???????? ????'. The plan shows the administrative division, according to which the entire The territory of the city is divided into five parts: Petersburg Island, Admiralty Side, Moscow Side, Vyborg Side, Vasilyevsky Island. The plan served as the basis for the work of the 'Commission for the Buildings of St Petersburg', which was developing plans for the reconstruction of the capital. The cartouche contains the arms of the state and the city, the monograms of Peter I and Anna Ioannovna.
