Jean-Georges BEAUMONT (1895-1978) "Ulysses and Nausicaa". Tapestry woven by the Colombes workshop for "Ami de la Paix". 1943 Dim. H: 203 cm W: 199 cm French textile artist and designer. Between 1919 and 1939, Beaumont worked for the La Maîtrise workshop and exhibited his work in Parisian salons and at the Palais Galliera. He designed porcelain for the Manufacture de Sèvres, and decorations for enamels, lacquers and screens. He also designed posters. However, his specialty remained the creation of textile art. In addition to tapestries for the Beauvais and Aubusson manufactures, Jean Beaumont designed fabrics for Tassinari et Chatel and Cornille & Co. and rugs for Braquenié, Hamt, Bouix and Aux Fabriques d'Aubusson. His repertoire consists mainly of lush floral designs.
