Très belle et fraîche épreuve sur japon, avant réduction du cuivre (le sujet fut gravé au revers du cuivre de La Mère et la Mort, Van Gelder 104). Toutes marges non ébarbées. Timbre AABM (Lugt 3075). Tirage pour les exemplaires de tête d'un ouvrage consacré à Rodolphe Bresdin, non publié. Il n'est pas connu d'épreuve ancienne de cette estampe. Le cuivre est plus tard réduit à 85 x 122 mm. " Il est possible que Bresdin n'ait jamais tiré d'épreuves de cette fantaisie, appelée parfois aussi Le Rosier. " (Dirk van Gelder, Rodolphe Bresdin, vol.
