Werner Gilles 1894 Rheydt - 1961 Essen - Jeune berger avec une chèvre et des poissons - Lithographie sur papier. 3e tirage manuel. 21 x 26 cm, 25 x 33,5 cm (découpe du passe-partout). 35 x 44 cm (dimensions avec cadre). Signé et daté en bas à droite : Werner Gilles 1952. Avec dédicace en bas au centre : « À mon cher M. Bundt, Noël 1952 ». Passe-partout. Encadré sous verre. Non ouvert. Jauni. Il a étudié de 1919 à 1923 auprès de W. Klemm et de L. Feininger au Bauhaus de Weimar. À cette époque, Gilles entretenait des liens d’amitié avec G. Marcks et O. Schlemmer. À partir de 1921, il passait régulièrement ses étés à Ischia, en Italie, mais vécut également à Düsseldorf, Paris et Berlin entre 1925 et 1930. À partir de 1951, Gilles vécut alternativement à Munich et à Ischia (Italie).
