Dans la partie inférieure, inscription sur la plaque d'impression : "THOMAS FAIRFAX Général du Parlement". Date : c. 1720 Description : Le portrait de Thomas Fairfax (1612-1671) le montre dans un cuirasse. Sa fonction de général et de commandant en chef de l'armée parlementaire pendant la guerre civile anglaise est reflétée dans le cadre décoratif par le baton à droite et une épée à gauche.
