Diam 37,50 mm A superb and rare Staybrite stainless steel chronograph, fully reconditioned in the Omega workshops in 2012, black dial with gold lettering and hands, external tachymeter and inner snail-shaped telemeter scales. Functions : Hour, minute, permanent seconds and 30mn registers. Snap-on case back, legendary manual winding movement, calibre 33.3. Accessories : Omega restoration certificate from March 2012 with its invoice (more than 2.000€). Condition : In excellent state of preservation, worn only a few times since restoration. Movement running at the time of cataloguing. A rare opportunity to acquire a legendary chronograph accompanied by its Omega restoration certificate no. 933 and the invoice for the work carried out (over €2,000). The calibre 33.3 developed in the late 1930s by Lemania was one of the first chronograph movements to feature a column wheel mechanism, synonymous with precision and quality. Although the reversal of the balance wheel and its bridge can only be seen once the case back has been opened, this movement is easily identifiable from the outside by its unique olive-shaped push-button (start and stop) located above the winding crown, which also serves to reset the chronograph to zero. Omega fitted this movement to its CK987 models, producing an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 pieces until the 1940s. Our example, dating from the very beginning of its commercialisation and featuring a superb black dial with gold lettering, is undoubtedly one of the most desirable of the many existing variants.
