Van Keulen [18th c.] Engr., 50 x 57,2 cm, hand-coloured (some marg. spots). First published in the 6th part of the "De Nieuwe Groote Ligtende Zee-Fakkel", containing the charts concerning the navigation in East Asian waters which required for a long time a certain secrecy. In 1753 maps from the so-called "Secret atlas of the V.O.C." were finally published in print. Important and very detailed map showing the Taiwan Strait ("Het naauw van Formosa") and the Fujian province at one side and the island of Taiwan (Formosa) at the other side. Ref. Koeman IV Keu [403].
