La gravure représente Moritz von Sachsen (Hermann Maurice de Saxe) en armure, vêtu d'une peau de panthère et coiffé d'une perruque, dans un cadre ovale. L'œuvre comporte des inscriptions indiquant que l'artiste portait les titres de duc de Courlande et de Semigallie et de maréchal de France.
