Buste de Louis XVI à droite, cuirassé et drapé, les cheveux noués sur la nuque. Signé : DUVIVIER . S. Rv. : « NOUVELLE JONCTION DES DEUX MERS . », à l'exergue : « CANAL DE LA SAONE / A L'YONNE / MDCCLXXXV ». Quatre divinités fluviales personnifiant le Rhône, la Saône, l'Yonne et la Seine, appuyées sur leurs urnes d'où s'écoule l'eau ; la Saône et l'Yonne se tendent la main au centre pour symboliser la jonction.
