Fine miniature en émail ovale sur le dessus d'une boîte en écaille de tortue mouchetée (eretmochelys imbracata*) montée en or ciselé 14k (585 millièmes). Haut. : 3 cm ; Larg. : 2,5 cm (dimensions de la miniature à vue) Poids brut : 65,8 g À l'intérieur, un n° 205 et une étiquette identifiant le portrait comme le duc de Nivernais et une provenance « Vente Maze Sencier » ; l'homme ne porte néanmoins pas le ruban bleu de l'ordre du St Esprit que le duc avait reçu ; ne figure pas dans les ventes d'Alphonse Maze-Sencier des 19-20 mars 1886 ni du 13 avril 1892.
