Finement façonnés dans la nacre, ces hameçons témoignent de la maîtrise des artisans polynésiens dans l’exploitation des ressources marines. Leur éclat naturel constituait un leurre particulièrement efficace pour la pêche. Provenance : Galerie John Giltsoff, Bruxelles. Voir : Bonhams, New York, 12 mai 2012, n° 95 pour un exemplaire comparable à l’hameçon le plus grand.
