PEINTRE DU XVIIIe SIÈCLE Portrait du comte Ottavio Bonaventura Tonso, 1701 Huile sur toile de première qualité, 76 x 63 cm ; signé « Bonaventura e Tonso 1701 » ; œuvre sans cadre. Dans les archives de la Compagnie de Saint-Paul, on trouve de nombreuses mentions, au début du XVIIIe siècle, d’un avocat nommé Giacomo Ottavio Bonaventura Tonso. Les documents d'archives et les procès-verbaux de la mairie (les « Ordinati ») montrent que Giacomo Ottavio Bonaventura Tonso exerçait au sein de l'administration turinoise vers 1710-1714. À cette époque, il occupait la fonction de décurion (membre du conseil municipal de l'époque). Il travaillait en étroite collaboration avec des personnalités célèbres du Turin baroque, telles que l'ingénieur et architecte Giovanni Giacomo Plantery, s'occupant de la gestion et des projets d'expansion de la ville.
