MARGARINE ASTRA - c.1930 Plaque émaillée publicitaire originale plate à rebords, version horizontale. 97 x 40 cm. « Emaillerie Alsacienne Strasbourg» Très bel état de conservation - Bel exemplaire dans un état de conservation remarquable. Les couleurs, d'une fraîcheur superbe, ont conservé toute leur intensité, notamment des rouges vifs, lumineux et idéalement marqués. L'ensemble bénéficie d'une brillance d'origine optimale. On relève simplement trois discrets éclats d'émail situés dans trois angles. Fondée en 1912 par l'ingénieur Jean Motte (siège au 37, rue de la Boëtie à Paris), la Société Astra ouvre sa première usine à Yvetot pour produire une margarine présentée comme un substitut économique au beurre. Face au succès commercial, la production est transférée au début des années 1930 dans une usine plus grande à Asnières-sur-Seine. Intégrée au groupe Unilever, l'entité devient Astra Calvé et développe ou acquiert des marques phares des corps gras (Fruit d'Or, Végétaline, Puget, Bénédicta). Le site industriel historique d'Asnières sera définitivement fermé par Unilever en juin 2002. Seine-maritime/Normandie
