2002 MERCEDES-BENZ CLK 200 KOMPRESSOR Chassis No. WDB2083441T119207 French registration document Elegant specification Major recent maintenance Good original condition At the 1993 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes unveiled a concept car named Coupé Studie, previewing a new design language. That study became reality at the 1997 Detroit Auto Show with the launch of the CLK (Coupé Leicht Kompakt). Its signature four-headlight front grille gave it a bold personality, while the bodywork embraced the bio-design trend with smooth, fluid shapes and curved glass surfaces. Based on the C-Class platform (W202), the chassis delivers precise, engaging handling thanks to its double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear axle. This Elegance trim level prioritizes comfort with a supple suspension setup. The CLK played a key role in reintroducing supercharged engines to the Mercedes range. Its robust M111 four-cylinder engine is paired with an Eaton supercharger to produce 163 hp, delivering great throttle response and an enjoyable engine note. A key improvement of the facelifted Phase 2 model is its six-speed manual gearbox, replacing the earlier five-speed unit. Produced in January 2002, this example is one of the final units built before the introduction of the second-generation CLK (W209). Delivered new in Luxembourg, it was registered in France in June 2002. Its tasteful, understated specification combines Brilliant Silver (Argent Adamantin) paintwork with a grey cloth interior free of tears or holes. The car comes well-equipped with fully functional features, including cruise control/speed limiter, dual-zone automatic climate control, radio, semi-electric front seats (height and reach), and a trip computer. Part of an automotive journalist’s private collection since December 2022, the car shows 255,000 km and comes with regular service history records dating back to 2017. Significant maintenance work was carried out at 220,000 km in 2025, including a new cylinder head gasket, timing chain guides and tensioners, supercharger belt, and accessory belt. Addressing the main known weakness of the M111 engine, the engine wiring harness was replaced by Mercedes in 2024. The car comes with a valid roadworthiness certificate (CT) dated October 7, 2026. Presented in good overall condition, the only noted defect is a minor spot of corrosion on the rear right fender. This CLK offers an affordable opportunity to acqui
