Giles / 1825 » (en bas à gauche), avec l'inscription « Between Albano & Marino » (en bas au centre), 42,2 x 25,3 cm. Provenance : Collection de Martyn Gregory, Londres [VG 990]. Note : Né à Glasgow, Giles a beaucoup voyagé dans sa jeunesse, notamment en Italie entre 1823 et 1826. Il est ensuite revenu passer la majeure partie de sa brillante carrière d’artiste et de paysagiste dans sa ville natale d’Aberdeen. La reine Victoria comptait parmi ses mécènes.
