Alfred William Hunt, RWS, Britannique, 1830-1896- Vue d’Oxford depuis Iffley ; crayon rehaussé de blanc sur papier chamois, signé et daté « AW Hunt 1880 » (en bas à gauche) et portant l’inscription « Iffley » (en bas à droite), 13,5 x 18,5 cm. Provenance : chez Thomas Agnew & Sons Ltd., Londres [n° 45849]. Collection privée, Royaume-Uni. Remarque : Hunt était lié à la Confrérie préraphaélite, ayant été encouragé dans sa pratique artistique par John Ruskin (1819-1900). Il est connu pour ses paysages très évocateurs et détaillés, représentant généralement les paysages du Lake District et de toute la Grande-Bretagne, comme dans la présente œuvre. La présente œuvre rappelle un dessin similaire vendu chez Bonhams, à Londres, le 27 septembre 2023, lot 63 (1 536 £).
