ALBERTO GIORGI: GOLD BROOCH/PENDANT, CIRCA 1970 Of rectangular openwork design with an asymmetric geometric pattern in yellow gold, signed 'A. Giorgi', import marks for 18 carat gold, dimensions 4.0 x 3.0 cm, gross weight 21.57 grams. Alberto Giorgi (born 1947), an Italian jeweller and goldsmith, trained under the sculptor Edgardo Mannucci and became a leading figure of the Fano School. Working from the 1960s onward, at a moment when kinetic art was reshaping established forms, he made geometry his own language, crafting jewels evoking mobile constellations and celestial landscapes, their pivots and articulations echoing the movement of the stars. His work is held in the collections of the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
