Insigne latéral en forme de losange pouvant correspondre à celui du 2nd ou du 3e bataillon du 317th Infantry, par-dessus lequel on aurait ajouté de la peinture. Le casque est nominatif au nom de Luther Wells Tooker, originaire du Connecticut, et qui a été successivement affecté au 304th, 164th, 138th puis 319th Infantry Regiment. Sachant que le 319th fait également partie de la 80th Division, le casque a probablement été récupéré par Tooker lors de son affectation au 319th. Usure d'usage, patine. Named US M1917 helmet of the 80th Division. Fine complete US M1917 helmet in good condition. Diamond-shaped side insignia possibly corresponding to the 2nd or 3rd Battalion of the 317th Infantry, with later paint applied over it. Named to Luther Wells Tooker of Connecticut, who served successively in the 304th, 164th, 138th and 319th Infantry Regiments. As the 319th also belonged to the 80th Division, Tooker probably acquired the helmet during that assignment. Wear and patina.
