Parmi les élèves de Steinert, Ludwig Leonhardt (né en 1949) se revendique ouvertement comme symétriste avec ses « symmetrees » : des arbres exotiques, agrandis en image inversée, formant un monument naturel artificiel, reproduit dans L.
